Bishop Allen

Another one of those slow jams that have been boiling on my speakers for the past couple of weeks. A lot of Bishop Allen's stuff has a wonderful indie quality about it... it's catchy and off-beat. Busted Heart is also another favorite off the Charm School album... who knows I'll probably post it tomorrow.

The Brian Jonestown Massacre

I've been planning on diving into this bands extensive catalogue for years now but I guess you could say I haven't been in the mood. I ran across this little gem, that's getting me motivated, on pandora after I created a station for The Dutchess and The Duke. Bam that's one bad ass start. Listen a couple of times when your feeling confident and relaxed. Yeeeeeaaahhh baby.

Washed Out

There's something that slowly grew on me with this one. Still not sure and I can't place my finger on it, but I keep coming back to it. Not a typical jam that I'd normally play but figured it was worth sharing.

Straight outta a place called "the bomb ass shit"... I ran across them attending this local residency at, yup you guessed it, Spaceland. Haven't been able to get this song outta my head. It's your new favorite whistling song.

The Impossible Shapes

After D&D I'm on this mellow kick and found this one on Pandora. Of course it's on loop and I'm up to 45 plays between my computer and ipod. I'm currently looking into their new album, and I'm sure if I approve you'll get a lick.

Give it a listen. If you like TV then you'll probably be able to handle this. I can dig it...it's got a little of an off-beat feel.

Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson

I had the privileged of see this guy after coming back and listening to his first album over and over all year.  He played and Spaceland so you can be sure I got my shit together and got there.  I happened to have come across this song I had overlooked for far too long.  Grab some good head phones and eliminate all distractions, you won't be disappointed.  It's starts slow and finishes hard.

Fleetwood Mac

I know what you're thinking. I've never been able to get into Fleetwood Mac, probably for the sole purpose of Stevie Nicks...but when I was informed of the amazing blues roots that their original guitarist brought to the table, I was blown away. And there's no way you can't tell me that it doesn't sound like Caleb Followill

I discovered these guys a couple of years ago when they released their ep and a kick ass song "I Can Tell." I was hooked but couldn't find anything else they had released. Then low and behold I stumble upon their full lp. Needless to say I'm not disappointed.

Karen O and the Kids

I haven't seen the movie yet but I feel though it's safe to say that Karen O can join the ranks of the elite motion picture soundtrack artists. Prince doing Purple Rain and Bon Jovi doing the Young Guns II soundtrack are two of my favorite albums of all time, nope I'm not high. I'm ecstatic to venture through this movie with Karen O and Spike Jonze at the helm.

With a bit of MGMT, I hate to compare, Empire Of The Sun has another off beat electro sound. What's even better are the video's for their singles. Don't get too freaked out.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney does have many gems. This is one of them I happened to run across as I was seeking out the "100 must have albums." So as I find other songs that rock I'm all over it. I first became obsessed with Paul's solo career with a little diddy called "Maybe I'm Amazed."

TAB The Band

Found these guys through a beer chuggin' friend. They do rule and have an almost hard nerd rock sound to them with a hint of blues. And I say nerd rock only because some of their lyrics, but they still rock. And besides what doesn't rule about Weezers first and second albums. So relax.

Kleenex Girl Wonder

Just found this band the other day and I keep going back to this song. It got this gritty college sound to it that works great while driving. For some reason it reminds me of "Whole Wide World." Perhaps because I want to scream it at the top of my fucking lungs. "And the future might look quit horrid, but the truth is that I don't mind"

Grizzly Bear

I've know about these guys for a bit, but was never really in the mood to listen. They have a melodic sound that sort of weaves you through a peaceful journey that I wasn't ready to go on. This song caught my attention because of the title, then listening to it created this haunting reality. It's a wicked story, one that's probably all too real. And besides the guitar riff is amazing.
